Challenge
Following a 2006 federal settlement mandating electronic contract tracking, American Medical Response (AMR) needed a system to drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and modernize contract management. At the time, AMR was a $2–3 billion company with a lean legal team of only 10 people tasked with managing high contract volumes across 40 states. The in-house Microsoft SQL-based system lacked flexibility and visibility, leaving legal teams unsure of contract status and execution. With growing demands—including a merger and eventual spin-off—AMR needed a scalable, legal-centric solution that integrated with DocuSign and could support dynamic business rules.
