Onit Legal Ops Community Principles and Guidelines

Introduction

Welcome to the Onit, Inc.’s (“Onit”) Legal Ops Community. This community is designed to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth among legal operations professionals. To ensure a respectful, safe, and productive environment, all members are expected to adhere to the following principles and guidelines.

Community Principles

  • Encouraging Collaboration and Support: Members are encouraged to offer help, answer questions, and contribute valuable insights.
  • Respectful Communication: Differences in opinion are natural and expected; however, personal attacks, hostility, threats, defamation, and insults are not acceptable. Members should engage in respectful and courteous communication at all times.
  • Giving Proper Credit: Members must credit original sources when posting articles, images, or other materials.
  • Protecting User Privacy: Members should never share personal information (theirs or others’) in public forums without consent. This includes email addresses, phone numbers, private messages, or other confidential information.
  • No Advertising, Explicit Content or Spam: Spam, promotional content, advertising, and material are strictly prohibited. Content that doesn’t align with the community’s focus should be redirected to appropriate channels.
  • Avoiding Illegal Activities: Discussions or content related to illegal activities such as anti-trust violations, fraud, piracy, or threats are forbidden.

Terms of Use

  • Modification of Terms: Onit reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which the community is offered.
  • No Unlawful Use: Members must not use the Community for any unlawful or prohibited purpose or interfere with others’ use and enjoyment.
  • Antitrust Compliance: Members must avoid any agreement or conversation that could have anti-competitive effects or constitute a restraint on trade.
  • Account Security: Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and must report unauthorized access immediately.
  • Use of Communication Services: Members must use communication tools responsibly and refrain from posting inappropriate, promotional, defamatory, or unlawful content. Members must not advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose. In addition, Members must not use the Community for political campaigning, recruiting votes, or soliciting support for legislative or other initiatives.
  • Content Ownership: Members retain ownership of their submissions but grant Onit permission to use them for community operations.
  • Copyright and Trademarks: Onit owns all content that it posts and such content is protected by copyright and trademark laws. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
  • Links to Third Party Sites. The Community website may contain links to other websites (“Linked Sites”). The Linked Sites are not under the control of Onit, and Onit is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any link contained in a Linked Site, or any changes or updates to a Linked Site.
  • No Legal Advice. ONIT IS NOT A LAW FIRM AND DOES NOT OFFER LEGAL ADVICE. Members bear all responsibility for any content used, including templates, guides, examples in the education/resource center. Such content is provided as an example or starting point that each Member should use at their own risk. 
  • Privacy and Data Protection: Members must not harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including email addresses, without their consent. The terms of Onit’s privacy policy shall apply.
  • Access Termination.  Onit reserves the right to remove any Member and their access to the Community, including for any violation of these Principles and Guidelines at any time without notice.
