I'd like to put hyperlinks to Onit files in an excel spreadsheet. When I click on the spreadsheet link it opens another tab and then sends me to the Onit log-in screen, and not the file. (I've already logged into Onit in one tab.) When I log in to the new tab it I return to the "Overview" screen.
Is there an easy fix for this, so that once logged into Onit I can open files directly from the Excel spreadsheet? (I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, and Firefox 3.6.3 and Office 2007) I believe I can copy the link from Excel, and then paste it into a new tab, and the file will open. I'm not sure why it won't do it directly.

Very interesting use. My first question is what happens if you close your browser without logging out of Onit, the reopen the browser and enter https://secure.onit.com/matters into the address bar. Are you taken to the login page or the the projects page?

It takes me to the login page, but then upon logging-in I'm immediately taken to the projects page.

Not sure if this is relevant, but when I link to a file (.PDF) on another site that does not require login, it opens an IE window displaying the file.

The problem is that you are being asked to login every time you go to the site. That should not be the case. I am investigating and hope to have more information shortly.
For what it's worth, I'm able to do exactly what you are trying to do from my laptop. I can save the link to the document in excel and click it to open/download the file. It will even launch my browser if it isn't already open. I am never asked to login. -

Quick question, when you get to the login page is "Remember me on this computer" checked or unchecked?
